April is Forever Jewellery

April is Forever is the creative baby of welsh crafter Sarah Tucker. Sarah comes from a family of creative women and has crafted in many forms of needlework including, dressmaking, cross stitch, knitting and crochet. While searching on-line for an embroidery pattern eight years ago, Sarah landed on a website dedicated to bead weaving and jewellery making.

This happy accident transformed her crafting and, if not her life, certainly her home as the beads and their accompaniments have insinuated themselves into every spare corner of her house since.

Sarah uses many techniques to create her jewellery and hair accessories with a focus on off loom bead weaving, which involves using a needle and thread to sew together tiny little pieces of glass to create the desired piece. She is currently developing a collection of beaded rings and pendants using a three dimensional tulip form and has also discovered a love of buttons which she uses in her hair accessories range. Nature is a recurring theme in her work and she recently completed a free form necklace entitled Snow Queen which was inspired by Canada’s snowy mountains and created while watching the Winter Olympics.

After years of making more jewellery than any one women could wear herself, Sarah has taken the plunge in 2010 to create April Is Forever and sell her jewellery at local craft fairs such as Vintage Pretty. The next step was to create a Folksy store as an on-line outlet and she is currently working on building up her on-line inventory.
