British animation stars Wallace and Gromit are to feature in a 2012 Christmas campaign for Google+ Hangouts encouraging friends, family and loved ones to connect via a specially designed platform going live this week.

The campaign created by digital agency rehabstudio, in partnership with Adam & Eve DDB and Aardman Studios, is being teased through a 60 second TV advert as part of an ongoing campaign illustrating how Google+ can be used to connect people in new ways.

As one of the leading Google Idea Lab partners, rehabstudio have been working closely with Google and bringing their personal touch to Hangouts. Earlier this year, they were invited as the only UK agency to take part in the Google+ Hackathon resulting in the Beta launch of Foosballplus.com, a digital football game that responds to gestural movements and face tracking for up to eight players.

Purveyors of “Hand Built Digital” campaigns, rehabstudio has been at the forefront of using intelligent hacking techniques that have resulted in some of the most interesting digital campaigns of the past year. This includes campaigins such as Subaru’s “My First Car Story” - website that uses pioneering text-video technology turning words and phrases into custom animations.
