No matter what your creative field, there are always those days when work is quiet and you really are twiddling your thumbs. But on those slower periods, it's an excellent opportunity to not only catch up on all of your administration work. Whether you're just starting out as a freelancer or you've been in business for years, marketing is essential as it communicates your company to existing and potential customers. Publish a regular e-newsletter to your existing customer base. Tell people about what you're doing and any new products or services you've launched. It'll keep you on their radars and encourage repeat business.

3. Write a blog

Blogs are great opportunities to not only extend your digital marketing strategy by creating a whole range of long-tail keywords, SEO-wise. They're also a good chance to show off your skills and expertise while building trust. Keep your blog regularly updated with quality content and both Google and web visitors will love you for it.
